Ashanti and Nelly have solidified that spinning the block may be worth the risk, because she is reportedly pregnant.
According to US Weekly, an anonymous source confirmed that the “Baby” singer is expecting her first child with her “Country Grammar” beau. Nelly has two children, 29-year-old daughter, Chanelle and a 24-year-old son, Cornell Haynes III, from a previous relationship.
Rumors of Ashanti’s pregnancy stemmed from a video that surfaced over the weekend at Nelly’s Black and White Ball. The host chanted, “Seal the deal,” as the former Murder Inc. signee and the rapper rubbed her belly. Concealed behind her black dress, the two erupted in a fit of giggles as the fans recording them questioned their suspicious exchange by yelling, “Wait, what?!”
Nelly and Ashanti first sparked dating rumors back in February when they were spotted donning matching chains. They were then spotted holding hands at a boxing match in April.
This isn’t Nelly and Ashanti’s first romantic entanglement. Ashanti and Nelly began dating in 2003, and were together for 11 years before going their separate ways in 2014. Their relationship made headlines last August when Irv Gotti claimed on Drink Champs he was upset when he found out Ashanti started dating Nelly after him. Nelly then appeared to throw a dig at Irv during a show with Ashanti.
Nelly then confirmed in September that he and Ashanti were back together. In an appearance on Philo TV’s Boss Moves with Rasheeda, Nelly said they were “cool again” and the romance “surprised both of us though.”
