Three aspiring rappers from Detroit who were missing since January 21 were found dead Thursday at an abandoned apartment building in nearby Highland Park, Mich.
The bodies of Armani Kelly, 27, Dante Wicker, 31, and Montoya Givens, 31, and others, were found in a vacant Highland Park apartment, 12 days after the men were supposed to meet at a rap show.
Armani texted his fiancée, Taylor Perrin, on Jan. 21 to say the show was canceled due to equipment failure. That was the last that anyone heard from any of the men.
The bodies were found 5 days after a 15-year-old boy was arrested for stealing a car linked to Kelly. The juvenile was charged with receiving and concealing stolen property on Jan. 28, according to Warren police. The car belonged to Kelly’s mother, Lorrie Kemp.
The police called their deaths homicides but said the cause and motive were still unknown.
