An R. Kelly victim was awarded access to the singer’s music royalties. Heather Williams was granted access to his Sony Music royalties, which has an estimated worth of $1.5 million.
Williams won a $4 million judgement against Kelly in 2020, after filing a civil lawsuit against him a year prior. She alleged that when she was 16, the “Step In The Name Of Love” singer lured her to his studio with a promise she could be in a music video and then had sex with her multiple times as a minor.
Other than Williams, Midwest Commercial Funding, a property manager won it’s own separate $3.5million ruling against Kelly over unpaid rent on a Chicago studio.
While Williams has been granted priority access to Kelly’s Sony royalties over Midwest Commercial Funding, it’s not yet clear whether she will be given priority over the monetary penalties that the Chicago R&B singer owes to his other victims as a result of his federal criminal convictions.
